Way Ahead

In the future, we forecast ourselves as one of the best biomedical solution providers for its waste in and beyond India. We want to expand our operations globally and look forward to being the most innovative and eco-friendly solution provider worldwide. Also willing to influence many other people all over the world to reduce not only medical waste but other waste as well. The more people get influenced by us, the chances of the betterment of the world will increase more.

Treatment of biomedical waste can occur both off-site and On-site, On-site treatment of large quantities of biomedical waste usually requires the use relatively large and expensive equipment, and is generally only cost effective very large healthcare set-ups that have the space, labour and budget to operate such equipment.

WHO Guidelines

INTERIM GUIDANCE, 29TH JULY 2020 (UNDER POINT NO.4 SAFE MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH CARE WASTE)

WHO recommends infectious waste produced during patient care, including those with confirmed COVID-19 infection (e.g. Sharps, bandages, pathological waste) and should be collected safely in clearly marked lined containers and sharp boxes. This waste should be treated, preferably on-site, and then safely disposed. Preferred treatment options are high temperature, dual chamber incineration or autoclaving. (46) If waste is moved off-site, it is critical to understand where and how it will be treated and disposed.

Compendium of Technologies for Treatment/Destruction of Healthcare Waste

UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME

These hybrid autoclaves have the advantages of being able to achieve high levels of disinfection shorter times because of the improved rates of heat transfer. They are highly automated and computer controlled and thus, they require very little operator attention. Treatment parameters are automatically recorded thereby providing the required documentation. Many are designed to remove odors using activated carbon of HEPA filters. Since they involve internal or post-treatment shredding and many have a drying cycle the resulting waste is not only unrecognizable but also dry and compact, corresponding to as much as 85% to 90% overall volume reduction.
